Every website that we build requires a "Theme" and these themes can be either developed from scratch or be derived from something that is already in existence. It's rare in these times that we start with a blank canvas, mainly because it's a lot more cost effective to start with something and tweak to your liking and this is exactly what a turnkey solution is. These building blocks form the foundation upon which we work. We utilise a reliable and open source framework developed for WordPress. All designs are modern, compliant and work seamlessly across mobile devices.

Note: All website built on WordPress (or similar) will require updates to keep them secure and running smoothly. More detail is provided within our "WebMaster" packages below.

CUSTOM PROJECTS: We are always excited to delve into a custom project but it's important to be aware at this stage that these types of projects will not be in the pricing realms of our Turnkey Solutions. You will have a lead Designer and Developer assigned to your project and the process will involve a high degree of scoping and consultancy. Meetings may be face-to-face or via video conferencing but they will be frequent in order to accurately deliver these inherently larger custom projects. Custom Post Types (CPT) are a way of distinguishing different types of content on your CMS website (eg WordPress). For instance if you wanted to add/edit a page you would go to the "Pages" section. If you have custom content (Case Studies, Testimonials, Portfolio, Jobs, Galleries etc) you can mange each instance with their own CPT. These are a arguably one of the most powerful features of a CMS website and really allows clients to take control of their own content.
Some additional examples of CPTs would be: Reviews, Jobs, Employees, Recipes, Galleries, Properties, and Document Libraries.

Webmaster and Support Packages

A Webmaster has the overall responsibility for maintaining a website. Essentially we can handle whatever website related aspects you’d like us to, but our Webmaster WordPress Support packages have been specially formulated to cover the essentials for managing your WordPress installation. We recommended our Basic Security, Quarterly Updates, Active Security and Uptime Monitoring as a good base of protection. You will also be provided with access to our online SEO Insights platform which (amongst many other features) tracks your website performance on search engines with the ability to compare against a competitor.

We'll make a recommendation based on your requirements but you can also use our Webmaster Customiser to build your own package.

We can also provide Webmaster for other CMS solutions including custom CMS builds where we would always recommend an ongoing maintenance contract to keep things running smoothly.

IMPORTANT: Updates to WordPress / CMS core, plugins, and themes will increase security by patching vulnerabilities and strengthening against attacks. Our Webmaster Packages have been specially formulated to reduce the risk of your site being compromised.
Spotlight Studios can be requested to perform updates on an ad-hoc basis if required.

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)

Search engines themselves provide you with little insight into how to achieve better results but our goal is to ensure you are on the first page for your preferred keywords within a reasonable time-frame. This process will not happen overnight and your choice of keywords will often be the determining factor for duration, the more competitive the term the more work involved and the longer it will take.

Results will vary from 3 months upward, and our transparent approach of providing access to real-time SEO Insights and monthly reports will help keep you informed at every step of the way. In the short term our goal is to optimise your site and increase visibility and exposure, this will increase traffic, subsequently improving your online visibility and SEO rankings. Highly competitive terms will require an additional budget for tools and services.

Our SEO services are based around hours (i.e. time invested), so the starter package is 4 hours per month. These increase throughout the other packages allowing more time to be invested across a wider variety of SEO activities
