A thriving multi-channel business, found themselves grappling with an increasingly complex logistics management scenario. Their operation depended on several disparate systems, each tasked with handling a particular aspect of the business. However, these systems were not seamlessly interconnected, resulting in substantial operational inefficiencies and process slowdowns. The initial challenge presented to us was to devise a solution that would considerably speed up OFH’s data sync process, ensuring immediate and efficient updates across all their systems.
The objective was to remove the operational bottlenecks, streamline their logistics management, and consequently, improve their decision-making process and service delivery times. The solution had to be robust, scalable, and able to support OFH’s growing multi-channel business without compromising system performance or data integrity.
In response to the challenge faced by OFH, we designed a custom application within BrightPearl capable of accepting API payloads directly into the system, with the core focus on status and order mapping. The solution essentially enabled automated, real-time synchronisation of logistics information across the multiple systems that OFH was using. By employing API integration, we ensured that BrightPearl could communicate seamlessly with the other systems such as BJS Home Delivery, sending and receiving data with minimal latency.
This innovative solution had an immediate and considerable impact on OFH’s operational efficiency. The improved speed and reliability of system updates via the custom application within BrightPearl resulted in considerable savings in workforce hours for the company. It eliminated the need for manual data updating across different systems, which was a laborious and time-consuming process. Before the implementation of our solution, this manual updating process could consume as much as 1-2 days per week of staff time. With the new automated system in place, these hours were saved, equating to substantial savings in personnel costs and allowing the team to refocus their efforts on strategic business growth activities.
